What we collect when you join or list a business, why, and how to unsubscribe or have it deleted.
Who we are
Acreage Owners is a local directory of rural and acreage services around Calgary. You can reach us:

What we collect
- Acreage owners who join: first name, email, your area, the services you're interested in (if you tick any), and your email consent.
- Businesses that ask to be listed: business name, contact name, phone, email, website, categories, service areas, description, years in business, licences or certifications, whether you're interested in a Featured spot, and your consents.
- With every form: the date and time, the exact consent wording you agreed to, the country your connection came from, and your browser type. We use your connection's IP address briefly to block spam and repeat submissions, and we don't store it.
Why we collect it
- To send members the seasonal tips, checklists and deals you asked for.
- To review, verify and publish business listings, and to contact businesses about their listing. Only the business details meant for the listing are published; we don't publish contact names or emails unless you ask us to.
- To keep a record of your consent, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.
We don't sell or rent your information, and the site has no ads or tracking cookies.
Where it's kept
Sign-ups are stored in a database run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which may keep data on servers outside Canada. Only Acreage Owners can see it.
Unsubscribe, access or deletion
- Unsubscribe: every email from us has an unsubscribe link that works right away. You can also call or text 403-589-4122.
- See, correct or delete your information: call or text 403-589-4122. We'll confirm it's you and take care of it.
If you unsubscribe, we keep a short record that you did (your email and the date) so we never email you again by mistake.
