Parkland County: rules and official contacts

  • A private sewage permit is required for sewage and privy holding tanks, a septic tank with a treatment field, mound or open discharge, and treatment plants. The property owner or a certified contractor applies online through PLANit Parkland. Work must start within 90 days and the permit is valid for one year. Parkland County: Plumbing and Private Sewage Permits
  • The county aims to plow its main road system within three days after a snowfall stops, and doesn't take snow removal requests during those first three days. A ridge left across your approach by the plow is yours to clear. Parkland County: Snow Removal
  • Parkland County doesn't clear private driveways, but residents who can't remove snow because of age or disability (with a doctor's note) can apply for a snow removal subsidy of $195 to $325 a winter, based on driveway length. You hire the contractor and send in the paid invoice. Parkland County: Snow Removal Subsidy Program
  • Fire permits are free, last up to 90 days and are available online or in person. On 10 acres or more, outdoor fires up to 2 m high by 3 m wide need a 90-day permit and major burns a 30-day permit. After March 31, 2026, burning in a multi-parcel subdivision, or on under 10 acres next to one, must be in an approved fire pit. Parkland County: Fire and Fireworks Permits
  • AHS water sample bottles for private wells: find the nearest pick-up and drop-off location on the AHS listing, and check the centre's current drop-off days and times before you sample. AHS: Water sample bottle pick-up and drop-off locations
